Disassembly Method for Vertical Gear Motor Reducer

Disassembling a vertical gear motor reducer involves several systematic steps to ensure the components are removed without damage, cleaned, and inspected for any necessary repairs or maintenance. Below are the steps for disassembling the motor:Disassembly Method for Vertical Gear Motor Reducer

1. Remove External Components

  • Remove the Belt Cover: Start by removing the belt cover, triangular belt, and pulley.
  • Remove the Coupling: Detach the coupling, bolts, and then lift the electric motor away from the reducer.

2. Disassemble the Gearbox Housing

  • Remove End Covers: Remove the end covers of the worm gear and unscrew the bolts of the split face of the reducer.
  • Lift the Housing Lid: Lift the housing lid carefully and place it on a rubber mat to avoid damage to the split face. Clean the lid and check whether there is any oil leakage around the tightened bolts.

3. Disassemble the Lubrication System

  • Remove Lubrication System Components: Detach any parts related to the lubrication system.
  • Remove the Worm Wheel Lock Nut: Use specialized tools to remove the worm wheel. Inspect the meshing of the worm and worm wheel, checking factors such as contact area, position, and wear.

4. Inspect and Clean Internal Components

  • Remove the Oil Seal: Remove the oil seal and clean the gearbox casing.
  • Inspect the Split Face: Check the split face for any damage. Inspect the shaft and shaft journal for wear. If wear is found, methods such as spraying, brushing, or electroplating followed by grinding can be used for repairs.
  • Check for Keyway Damage: If the keyway on the shaft is damaged, it may be re-machined 120° away from the original keyway.
  • Examine Bearings and Couplings: Check for wear, pitting, or severe bonding on the bearings and couplings. These parts can either be replaced or repaired. For worm wheels with light bonding, pitting, or minor surface defects, methods like welding, milling, scraping, or grinding can be used for restoration.

5. Assembly Preparation

  • Clean All Parts: Clean all components thoroughly before reassembly, removing any burrs.
  • Check Dimensions: Ensure all components meet the required specifications, including dimensions, geometric shape, precision, and surface roughness, based on the provided drawings.
  • Lubrication: Apply lubricating oil to the fitting surfaces of the worm wheel and shaft, as well as the bearing and shaft interfaces before assembly.

6. Reassemble the Motor

  • Assemble the Coupling: If the coupling is a separable type, first press the worm wheel ring onto the hub and secure it.
  • Install the Coupling: Mount the coupling onto the shaft and ensure it is properly aligned and tightened.

By following these steps, you can ensure that the vertical gear motor reducer is disassembled properly, components are inspected and cleaned, and the motor is reassembled effectively for continued operation.
