F1 Type Screw Jack
The configuration of a translation screw jack is different from that of a moving nut screw jack. In the translation screw jack, the trapezoidal lifting screw (also known as the guide screw) moves up and down in the gearbox. This linear motion is caused by a rotating bronze gear, which is rotated by the worm shaft. The worm gear is threaded to accommodate lifting threads. The gear housing provides accommodating volume and mechanical support to maintain external forces applied to the guide screw and housing. The worm shaft can be rotated by an electric motor or manually by a handwheel, depending on the load, torque applied to the shaft, and application type.
When the worm gear rotates, the friction between the worm gear and the thread also rotates the lifting screw. The larger the lifting load on the screw jack, the greater the tendency for the guide screw and worm gear to rotate together. If the guide screw rotates with the worm gear, it cannot move linearly and cannot provide the required force on the load. Therefore, the rotation of the load should be limited to achieve linear motion. If the application requires free load and it is impossible to prevent self rotation, the design of the screw jack must be changed and an anti rotation mechanism should be used. The anti rotation mechanism of the screw jack has a lifting screw with a key. The keying design can prevent the trapezoidal lifting screw from rotating around its axis and provide linear motion.
