Installation Precautions for Cycloidal Pinwheel Reducers
The installation of cycloidal pinwheel reducers is a key step in ensuring their normal operation and prolonging their service life. Below are the important considerations during installation:
Installation of Couplings:
When installing couplings, pulleys, sprockets, or other connection parts on the output shaft of the cycloidal reducer, direct impact should be avoided. The output shaft cannot withstand axial impact forces. It is recommended to use screws inserted into the shaft end hole to press the coupling onto the shaft to avoid damaging the reducer.
Shaft Diameter Fit:
The shaft diameters of the output and input shafts should be fitted according to the GB1568-79 standard, ensuring proper alignment and smooth operation.
Purpose of Lifting Eye Bolts:
The lifting eye bolts on the reducer are strictly for lifting the reducer and should not be used for any other purpose to prevent unnecessary damage.
Alignment and Calibration of the Reducer:
When installing the reducer on the foundation, the centerline height, horizontal alignment, and dimensions of the connecting parts must be calibrated. Special attention should be given to calibrating the concentricity of the rotating shafts, ensuring it does not exceed the tolerance allowed by the coupling.
Use of Shims:
Steel or cast iron shims can be used for calibration. The height of shims should not exceed three layers. Once calibration is complete, flat washers should be used instead. The purpose of shims is to ensure the reducer is installed level and to prevent deformation due to uneven surfaces.
Shim Placement:
During installation, shims should be arranged symmetrically on both sides of the foundation bolts, and the distance between shims should be large enough to allow free flow of grout when pouring. This helps prevent deformation of the reducer’s body.
Grouting:
Grouting should be done with dense cement slurry, ensuring there are no air bubbles, voids, or other defects. This ensures that the reducer is securely fixed to the foundation and prevents loosening or misalignment due to improper grouting.
In summary, precise alignment, careful calibration, and ensuring a stable foundation are critical for the proper operation and longevity of the cycloidal pinwheel reducer.
