3B QD Bushed Sheaves
3B QD Bushed Sheaves pulleys are making for A, AX, AA, 4L, B, BX, BB, and 5L v-belts, ranging from 3.75″ to 38.35″ in diameter. Depending on the pulley size, they are working with SH, SDS, SK, SF, or E QD bushings, which we also stock. Most of our three-groove 3B QD bushed pulleys are making from a high-strength grade 35 cast iron, with phosphate-coated and painted for anti-corrosion. Balance the sheaves at the factory for smooth machinery operation. The main benefit of using a QD (quick detachable) pulley is that if the bushing (hub) breaks, you don’t have to replace the whole assembly, or if just the pulley gets worn out, the same principle applies. The other significant benefit is that there is a broader range of bore options with QD pulleys than with the “fixed-bore” style.

How is QD Bushing Different from Taper Bushing?
QD bushing as flange bushing. There are specific differences between Taper bushing and QD bushing. The primary difference between the two types of the bushing is the existence of a flange in QD bushing. The QD style has a flange around the outside diameter, whereas, in the case of taper lock. The bushing has straight sides on the outer diameter.
QD bushing uses the external hex to drive it into the bore of the component that has been installed. In the case of taper bushing. The internal head cap screw is used to drive it into the bore that has been installed. Using external hex by QD bushing helps get a larger bore capacity than taper lock bushing.
The difference between the QD bushing and taper bushing is mainly due to the existence of an external key. This helps QD bushing to have excellent torque carrying capability.
