Cast 400 Class Pintle Chain is one-piece cast offset link construction joined together by steel pins. The pins are securely locked against turning in the sidebars by generous head stops that are cast on the links. The head stops are positioned to provide a maximum locking effect when the chain is under load. This confines the wear to the part of the pin inside the barrel of the link, where it is distributed over the maximum area. This ensures the best durability of the chain.

Pintle Chain Classes
The pintle chain is divided into various classes, ranging from 400 to 900, each with its own set of properties designed for specific industries and uses. The benefits of using a pintle chain depend on the type of chain and the way it is used.
600 Class Pintle Chain 700 Class Pintle Chain 400 Class Pintle Chain
The 400 class pintle chains can be used in the same ways as steel detachable chains, but the sprockets don’t need to be changed. They can also hold much more weight than steel detachable chains. This class is also made of cast steel alloys that can handle corrosive and abrasive environments. Our 400-class pintle chains come standard with stainless steel cotters.
600 Class Pintle Chain
Pinch chains in the 600 class are strong and come at an affordable price. They are also made with an open barrel that keeps materials from getting stuck in the chain. This series can also be used in abrasive environments.
700 Class Pintle Chain
The 700-class pintle chains offer a lot of support and capabilities when it comes to moving or driving over long distances. Carbon steel, cast steel, stainless steel, and non-metallic plastics can be used to make these chains. They are used in sugar, wastewater, mining, and other industries.
800 Class Pintle Chain
An 800 class pintle chain is a very strong pintle chain that is often used in mining and other harsh environments. The benefits of these chains come from their special design, which keeps them from breaking under high shock loads and lets them work in situations that aren’t ideal for chains.
900 Class Pintle Chain
This type of pintle chain only comes in one size. Because it can withstand rough environments for long periods of time, it is mostly used in palm oil and sugar mills.800 Class Pintle Chain 900 Class Pintle Chain
Advantages of the Pintle Chain
Pintle chains have several benefits that allow them to be applicable to various cases involving considerable workload and corrosive-resistant material environments. The advantages of using a pintle chain vary by class and by application.
400 Class Pintle Chain Advantages | The 400 class pintle chains are able to be used in the same applications as steel detachable chains without having to replace the sprockets. They also offer far superior working loads than steel detachable chains. This class is also made out of cast steel alloys that can withstand corrosive and abrasive applications, our 400-class pintle chains come standard with stainless steel cotters. |
600 Class Pintle Chain Advantages | 600 class pintle chains offer high strengths at an affordable price point. They are also manufactured with an open barrel design for preventing material buildup within the chain, this series can also run in abrasive applications. |
700 Class Pintle Chain Advantages | When it comes to effectively conveying or driving over long lengths the 700-class pintle chains provide ample support and capabilities. These chains are available in carbon steel, cast, stainless steel, and non-metallic plastic options for applications such as sugar, wastewater, mining, and more. |
800 Class Pintle Chain Advantages | 800-class pintle chains are a super high-strength pintle chain type that is usually found in mining and highly abrasive applications. The benefits of these chains come with a special design that prevents breakage under high shock-loads and the ability to operate in the most non-ideal chain applications out there. |
900 Class Advantages | This class of pintle chain only has one size, it’s primarily used in palm oil and sugar milling applications because of its ability to handle abrasive atmospheres for long periods of time. |
400 Class Pintle Chain Applications
1. Wastewater Pintle Chain
There are more than ten kinds of pintle chains that can be used in the capacity of wastewater chain. In recent years, there has been a significant growth in interest in environmental concerns and being more “eco,” which has resulted in a diversification of garbage treatment facilities and waste treatment technologies.
2. Spreader Pintle Chains
In the agriculture industry, it serves as a manure spreader that not only exceeds in strength and durability. But pintle chains are suitable for a range of agriculture machinery applications involving the use of a spreader, including salt spreaders and manure spreaders. The chain moves the material with the help of a crossbar/slats. Precision-punched holes increase load-bearing surface area and maximize the working loads.
The design and materials used are best for conveyor chains adaptable for a wide range of harsh conditions—incinerator ash with water and molten slag.
3. Conveyor Pintle Chains
A wide range of conveyor systems uses pintle chains of various classes known for their great strength and extended wear life. In the design of a pintle chain conveyor, it is critical to remember that the chain is only intended to move in one direction at a time. A chain conveyor is a kind of conveyor that is used to move items along an assembly line and around a factory or warehouse facility.
Chain conveyors often transport heavy unit loads like pallets, grid boxes, and industrial containers. The configuration of these conveyors may be either a single chain strand or a double chain strand. A chain conveyor is a kind of conveyor that is used to move items along an assembly line or around a factory or warehouse facility.
4. Sugar Mills Pintle Chains
Pintle chains, such as precision roller chains, engineering-class roller conveyor chains, bagasse carrier chains, primary cane carrier chains, and drive chains, are developed to function under the rigors of harvesting sugar mills.
It improves harvesting rates for sugar mill-related processes by using a mix of carbon and alloy steels to provide the best chain life possible and extra alternatives such as stainless steel, chrome plating, and nickel plating for specialized service.
Pintle Chain Matching Pintle Chain Sprockets
Our line of pintle chain sprockets ranges in bore size, hub type (A-plate, B-Hub, or C-Hub), and material (cast or steel). Please note that the majority of our steel sprockets are supplied with heat-treating on the teeth, but additional hardened is available upon request. We also supply split, idler, and segmented tooth sprockets.
All of our American steel pintle chain sprockets are manufactured using the ASME elongated tooth structure to promote longevity and a self-cleaning design to prevent chain jumping. What separates our pintle chain sprockets from others is the high-quality steel and high-grade cast materials used for each sprocket type; also, the majority of our sprockets are manufactured right here in China! We also stock a full line of premium quality pintle chains.
Stock Pintle Chain Sprockets include chain sizes: 662, 667H, 667X, 667XH, 667J, 88C, 88K, 88XH
Non-Stock Pintle Chain Sprockets include chain sizes: 308C and 58, and these can be manufactured within 1-2 weeks.
Note: Our sprockets directly interchange with other sprocket and chain brands.
