5V Series Cast Iron Two-Groove Sheaves with Split Taper Bushings for “5V” Belts
5V series two-groove taper bushed sheaves are manufactured for 5V, 5VX, banded 5V, and banded 5VX belts. They range from 4.40″ to 28.0″ in diameter. Depending on the sheave size, they are made to use P1, Q1, or R1 split-taper bushings, which we also stock. Most of our two-groove 5V split taper sheaves are manufactured from a high-strength grade 35 cast iron, are phosphate-coated, and are painted for anti-corrosion. All of them are balanced at the factory for smooth machinery operation.

Matching 5V, 5VX Series V-Belt
(1) 5V-Series V-Belts
Classic 5V-Series V-Belts have a 0.63″ top-width, 0.53″ thickness, and a 38° angle. Additionally, 5V V-belts are one of the oldest styles of V-Belts in the industry. Because of their long-term success and economical operation, they are also one of the industry’s most widely used belt series. The premium 5V-series v-belts we supply are manufactured under ISO 9001 specifications, are oil and heat resistant, and directly interchange with other brands. They are constructed of a natural rubber compound with polyester cords and use cotton with a polyester blend cover for high durability.
(2) 5VX Cogged V-Belts
5VX cogged v-belts are designated by having a 0.53″ top-width and 0.53″ thickness. Our cogged 5VX v-belts are manufactured with raw-edge sidewalls to eliminate slippage and increase efficacy, saving operation costs. They are also manufactured by ARPM standards and are oil and heat-resistant. 5VX belts are constructed from a high-quality chloroprene compound with high-strength polyester chords and have a top fabric built from a cotton polyester blend. Besides the performance, durability, and energy savings benefits, our cogged v-belts will work with existing stand v belt pulleys/ sheaves.
Split Taper Bushings
Split taper bushings are amongst the most common bushings utilized due to their high integral strength, simplicity of installation and uninstall, and high holding power for successfully coupling a shaft onto a drive or idler component. Split taper bushings are amongst the most common bushings utilized due to their high integral strength, simplicity of installation and uninstall, and high holding power for successfully coupling a shaft onto a drive or idler component. Split taper bushings are utilized in a broad range of sheaves, conveyor pulleys, and sprockets. We stock split taper bushings ranging from the G-series to W2-series and in inch and metric bore sizes that range from 0.375″ up to 7.438″.
5V-Section Sheaves for V-Belts
5V-section sheaves are explicitly manufactured for 5V-series v-belts and banded 5V belts. Our 5V-section v-belt sheaves are dimensionally manufactured to ARPM standards, so they directly interchange with other brands. 5V pulleys only come in taper lock style and QD (quick detachable) style for increased bore range flexibility. What separates our sheaves from others on the market is that most of them are manufactured from a grade 35 cast iron instead of the standard grade 25. This produces a much stronger sheave with better wear resistance. Something else to note is that these sheaves have been dynamically balanced for a smoother operation and reduced vibration, which results in longer bearing and machinery life. Additionally, they are phosphate and painted for added protection against corrosion.
