8D Series Cast Iron QD Bushing Sheaves Pulley for “D” Belts
8D series eight-groove QD bushed sheaves(8D Series QD Bushing Sheaves) are manufactured for D-series classic v-belts and D-banded belts; they range from 12.64″ to 58.64″ in diameter. Depending on the sheave size, they are made to use J, M, or N QD (quick detachable) bushings, which we also stock. Most of our 8D QD sheaves are manufactured from a high-strength grade 35 cast iron, are phosphate-coated, and are painted for anti-corrosion. All of them are balanced at the factory for smooth machinery operation.

Related Matching D-Series, D-Series Banded V-Belts
(1) D-Series V-Belts
Classic D-Series V-Belts have a 1.25″ top-width, 0.75″ thickness, and a 40° angle. Additionally, D V-belts are one of the oldest styles of V-Belts in the industry. Because of their long-term success and economical operation, they are also one of the industry’s most widely used belt series. The premium D-series v-belts we supply are manufactured under ISO 9001 specifications, are oil and heat resistant, and directly interchange with other brands. They are constructed of a natural rubber compound with polyester cords and use cotton with a polyester blend cover for high durability.
(2) D-Series Banded V-Belts
D-series v-belts are a part of the “classic” lineup of v-belts because they are one of the oldest style belts used and one of the most common. Manufactured by ARPM standards and offer superior strength, durability, and performance. D-series v-belts have a 1-1/4″ top-width per belt (band/ rib).
Related QD Bushings | Quick Disconnect Bushings
QD bushings are utilized throughout the industrial power transmission and agricultural industry for various sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, and synchronized drives. They are designed for easy installation and easy uninstallation; they are also commonly referred to as quick-disconnect bushings. QD bushings can help conventional mounting with the flange outboard and reverse mounting to where the flange is inboard and utilize a single split that extends through the entire bushing length. Our QD bushings interchange with other brands and are making from high-grade steel precision machined for perfect application fitment. QD bushings‘ benefits over different styles include; ease of installation/ uninstall, superior holding power, and extreme strengths. We stock all the standard sizes of QD bushings and supply custom QD bushings upon request.

Matters Needing Attention in the Assembly of Tapered Pulley
There are many application advantages of the tapered sleeve pulley. The 8-degree outer tapered surface is tightly connected with the inner tapered surface of the pulley, which can significantly improve the centering accuracy of the transmission parts. Moreover, its versatility and interchangeability are excellent and can be applied to various occasions. Even if the inner hole and the chain groove are damaged during long-term operation, they can be restored only by replacing the taper sleeve to the exact specification, reducing the follow-up maintenance cost.
Matters needing attention in the assembly of the tapered sleeve pulley:
(1) Gasoline must be used for the first cleaning before and after the assembly of the tapered sleeve pulley to ensure that the parts are clean and dry to ensure that the mating surfaces are tightly fitted without oil stains and have sufficient friction.
(2) It should be washed with gasoline and dried before assembling with hexagon socket head bolts. Do not apply lubricating oil or grease in the bolts or screw holes to ensure sufficient friction and self-locking ability after the bolts are tightened.
(3) When the three hexagon socket bolts are about to be installed, they need to be tightened in turn to ensure that the tapered sleeve is subjected to uniform axial force and the pulley and the tapered sleeve are well positioned coaxially.
(4) Before installation, check and measure the length of the hexagon socket head bolts for assembly to ensure that the assembly bolts can withstand the bottom end of the blind hole of the taper sleeve after tightening to ensure that the tapered surface fits tightly, and to ensure that the bolts are subjected to the reverse thrust of the bottom end of the blind hole, resulting in double The same anti-loosening effect as the nut principle.
(5) After the tapered sleeve pulley is tightened, check and adjust the relative position of the primary and driven pulleys by pulling the wire to ensure that the two pulleys are on the same plane and the belt tension is moderate.
(6) The pulley cover should be intact and installed firmly to ensure that the belt is broken or the pulley is loosened and withdrawn during operation, resulting in a significant safety accident.
(7) After many years of long-term operation of mechanical equipment, it is necessary to check the inner hole and chain groove condition regularly, there may be damage, and spare parts should be replaced in time if defects are found.
