8V Series Cast Iron Twelve-Groove QD Sheaves for “8V” Belts
8V series twelve-groove QD (quick detachable) bushed pulley sheaves are manufactured for 8V and 8V banded belts. They range from 12.50″ to 53.00″ in diameter. Depending on the sheave size, they are made to use an M, N, or P QD bushing, which we also stock. Most of our twelve-groove 8V QD sheaves are manufactured from a high-strength grade 35 cast iron, are phosphate-coated, and are painted for anti-corrosion. All of them are balanced at the factory for smooth machinery operation.

Why Do Pulleys Need Surface Treatment?
Why do pulleys need surface treatment? Currently, many mechanical types of equipment have higher and higher quality requirements for pulleys, so some manufacturers will surface therapy of their pulley products to improve their appearance and use quality.
The pulley belongs to the hub-type parts. The material: generally cast iron. The manufacturing process is usually based on casting and forging. Therefore, the pulley products without surface treatment are prone to burrs on the surface and hurt the hands—Rust phenomenon.
Currently, the commonly used surface treatment of pulleys is phosphating and blackening. The technological process is degreasing and rust removal – water cleaning – surface conditioning – phosphating – water cleaning – chromate treatment – drying – grease or dyeing treatment:
The early application of the phosphating process is rust prevention. The steel parts are phosphate to form a phosphating film, which plays a role in rust prevention. The anti-rust period of workpieces after phosphating and anti-rusting treatment can reach several months or even several years (for oiled workpieces) and is widely used for anti-rust, anti-rust, and phosphating in the process of process, transportation, packaging, and storage and use.
