Anti-Sidebow Chains Characteristics
One of the most important Anti-sidebow chain features is the ability of the chain to pivot. The chain can bow sideways if the chain is in the appropriate position. To achieve this. We make the chain with two separate parts: the inner link plate and the outer chain links. The latter two parts are made of plastic materials. The pivot pin 7 and bolt 6 are made of steel. A groove on the inner link plate allows the centering projection to pivot further into this region.
The chain links are interconnected by a hinge. The hinge is designed to pivot about first and second axes. The hinge is formed by a pivot bolt or pin connected to the outer chain links. The inner chain links are attached to the outer chain links via lateral pivot openings, which are defined by individual support plates. The hinge is sized to allow the plate belt to pivot between the inner and outer chains. This feature is useful for counteracting side bow.
An additional feature of anti-sidebow chains is their extra clearance between pins and bushings. Design for a minimum 250-mm curve radius. Equipp with all of the usual roller chains’ attachments, such as sprockets. However, the bearing area of side bow chains is limit. As a result, they are only suitable for lower load levels compare to a comparable roller chain.
