Material of scraper sprockets
Most of the scraper chain wheels are making of 42CrMo or 45CrMnMo. The chain wheels are forging and quenching to improve wear resistance of the chain wheels. First, the forging surface shall be free of cracks, interlayers, wrinkles, developing damage, and slag inclusions. After twenty processes of processing and forming, the chain wheels shall put into the head and tail of the machine.
Working principle of FU Scraper Conveyor Cast Sprockets
The working principle of the scraper conveyor is that the open chute is used as the bearing part of coal, gangue, or materials, and the scraper is fixed on the chain (forming scraper chain) as the traction component. When the head drive part conveyor gearbox is started, the chain sprocket on the head shaft of the belt conveyor rotates to make the scraper chain circulate and move the animal material along the chute until it is unloaded at the head. The scraper chain bypasses the chain wheel and operates in a stepless closed cycle to complete the transportation of materials.
Precautions for using scraper sprocket
- The tightness of the sprocket should be appropriate. Too tight will increase power consumption, and the bearing is easy to wear; The chain wheel is too loose and easy to jump and fall off. The tightness of the sprocket is: lift or press it from the middle of the sprocket, which is about 2~3% of the center distance between the two sprockets.
- The sprocket shall install on the shaft without swing and skew. In the same drive assembly, the end faces of two sprockets should be in the same plane. When the center distance of the sprockets is less than 0.5m, the deviation can be 1mm; When the center distance of the sprocket is more than 0.5m, the variation can be 2mm. However, not allowed to have the phenomenon of friction chain gear side. If the two wheels are offset too much, it is easy to cause chain breaking and accelerated wear. Check and adjust the offset when changing the chain.
After the chain wheel is seriously worn, it shall replace with a new one simultaneously to ensure good engagement. It is not allowed to replace the sprocket with a new one alone. Otherwise, it will cause poor engagement and accelerate the wear of the new sprocket or chaining.
The new sprocket is too long or stretched after use, which is difficult to adjust. The chain link can be removed according to the situation, but it must be an even number. The chain link shall pass through the back of the sprocket, the locking plate shall be inserted outside, and the opening of the locking plate shall face the opposite direction of the drive.
The sprocket shall be filled with lubricating oil in time during operation. The lubricating oil must enter the fitting clearance between the roller and the inner sleeve to work under conditions and reduce wear.
The old sprocket cannot be mixed with some new ones. Otherwise, it is easy to have an impact on the transmission and break the sprocket.
When the machine is stored for a long time, the chain wheel should be removed and cleaned with kerosene or diesel oil, coated with engine oil or butter, and stored in a dry place.
