In addition to lower installation and mechanical costs, rack and pinion lifts eliminate structural costs because they do not require closed hoistways, machine rooms, or overhead loads. Structure of rack and pinion lifting system
The rack and pinion lift system does not include any lifting ropes or cables, such as traction drive lifts unless they have optional counterweights. Instead, the drive assembly is mounted directly on top of the vehicle platform. The drive gear, also called the pinion, is connected to the motor, which drives the pinion and provides power to the system. This construction facilitates the use of permanently mounted gear rails. Therefore, the rack and pinion elevator is an anti-skid system, which is very suitable for use in industrial environments and outdoor applications. The cab dimensions and capacity of the rack and pinion elevator system vary depending on the application.
Operation of Rack and Pinion Elevator System
