HDG G70 Chains For Ship
HDG G70 marine chain is an excellent choice for many applications. Mild steel construction resists rust and provides a durable finish. This chain is ideal for marine and agricultural applications. It is provided without a stamp and is the most economical solution. It is available in a variety of lengths and link diameters.
The G70 chain has good abrasion resistance and is ideal for most adhesive applications. It is available in electro-galvanized, powder-coated, and hot-dip galvanized finishes. Not recommended for overhead hoisting, but suitable for cargo lashing. It is available in different sizes to meet various lifting requirements, including shiploads.
Solid galvanized chains are also available, which are slightly more expensive to purchase, but better value for money in the long run. You can buy cheaper chains, but you’ll have to pay more to replace them later. As an intelligent boater, you should always consider the life cycle cost of a chain before purchasing.

Advantages of High Tension Chains
One of the advantages of a high-tension chain is that it is lighter. High-strength steel allows smaller chains to achieve the same level of strength. This is especially important for anchor riding as it allows for a more significant margin of error. As a result, the weight saved can be reinvested in larger anchors, reducing the weight of the overall system.
High-strength chains are available in various grades. There are two types of high-strength chains: Grade 80 and Grade 100. Both have advantages and disadvantages. The latter are not susceptible to permanent degradation even at high temperatures. Therefore, OSHA and ASME recommend Class 100 chains for sling assemblies.
High-strength chains are generally more robust and more durable than medium-strength chains. The former is made of carbon steel, while the latter is made of alloy steel. The latter is more expensive but has a higher strength-to-weight ratio. It is also more resistant to wear and corrosion. However, high-strength chains are not recommended for overhead lifting despite being stronger.
High-strength chains are durable enough to withstand high temperatures. Unlike ordinary steel chains, they are not prone to sudden breakage, reducing maintenance costs and downtime. Additionally, they will not break under high pressure or abrasive action.
