Helical Bevel Gear
The helical bevel gear refers to the tooth line on the crown wheel of the production shape, which is a straight bevel gear that does not go through the bevel top. The consecutive bevel gear pair has a relatively small number of teeth during transmission, prone to impact, unstable information, and loud noise. The bull gear and the pinion of a helical bevel gear pair have equal and opposite helix angles. The coincidence degree is greater than that of the spur bevel gear pair. Therefore, the noise and vibration are significantly reduced during high-speed operation, and the number of helical gear teeth of the helical bevel gear pair can be relatively reduced, thereby obtaining a larger transmission ratio and a compact structure;
In the unfolded surface drawing of the pitch bevel of the helical bevel gear, the pitch bevel gear line is tangent to a circle concentric with the pitch cone axis, so it is also called tangential bevel gear. Its advantages over straight gears are the same as the advantages of helical cylindrical gears over straight cylindrical gears: less impact load and more stable operation. However, due to the low productivity of this kind of gear, its performance is not as good as that of the spiral bevel gear, which can be mass-produced by a unique high-efficiency machine tool, so the latter gradually replaces it, and it is rarely used.
