Benefits of an Inline Planetary Gearbox
Designed to deliver maximum torque and speed, an inline planetary gearbox can be customized to fit the application requirements. Available in a variety of frame sizes, these inline planetary gearboxes have precision-cut helical gears and longer face widths. The latter result in greater tooth-to-shaft contact and overall torque density. They’re also available with case-hardened teeth.
One of the major benefits of an inline planetary gear reducer is that it can achieve different output speeds and gear reduction ratios. Due to its proportionate torque distribution, inline planetary gearboxes are able to bear big radial loads. These inline reducers are available with both male and female configurations.
A planetary gearbox is similar to the Milky Way – the sun gear in the middle of the system rotates around the ring gear. It has two or more outer gears that mesh with it. The gears are held together by a carrier that also incorporates the output shaft. There are several advantages and disadvantages to inline planetary gearboxes. The first is that they require higher precision, which can lead to premature failure. The second is that heat dissipation is more difficult than with other gearboxes.
Another benefit of planetary gearboxes is their compact size. Compared to a normal pinion and gear reducer, they have lower inertia. They are often used for small and compact applications, where space is at a premium. Their compact size and large reduction ratios make them a popular choice in space-constrained applications.
The inline planetary gearboxes produced by us are lubricated with Food Compatible grease. They are also available with upgraded sealing options. They are highly economical, feature a wide range of ratios, and are washdown-ready and hygienic. They have a reputation for durability. They can provide years of trouble-free operation. They can also be designed to minimize maintenance requirements.
Coaxial inline planetary gear reducers feature the same center of rotation as the input and output shafts. In other words, the input and output shafts rotate around each other. The planetary gear reducer’s design allows for greater torque and speed to be delivered to the motor at the same time. Its low backlash makes it ideal for high precision applications and increased acceleration.
