To install a new chain, place it next to the old one. Ideally, the lengths should match. To determine if the chain is too long, place the new chain next to the old one. It will be too long. If you need to shorten it, you can cut out some links.

Safety requirements for link chain
(1) Check the hook, chain, axle, and chain disk before use. It should be strictly prohibited if there is rust, crack, or damage or the transmission part is inflexible.
(2) When in use, loosen the chain and hang the hoisting object, slowly pull the traction chain, and after the hoisting chain is stressed, check the gear meshing and the working state of the self-locking device, and then continue the operation after confirmation.
(3) The lifting capacity in use shall not exceed its rated lifting capacity, and below -10°C, it shall not exceed half of its rated lifting capacity.
(4) When pulling the chain. It should be even and gentle, consistent with the direction of the sprocket wheel, and not be dragged obliquely to prevent the occurrence of chain skipping, slot drop, and chain jamming.
(5) When the weight of the inverted chain is unknown, or the weight of the lifting object is unknown, it can continue to work as long as one person can pull the chain. If one person cannot remove it, the reason should be found out, and it is strictly forbidden for two or more people to pull together to prevent the occurrence of an ACCIDENT.
(6) The gear part should be lubricated frequently, and the pawl, spring, and ratchet should be checked frequently. When lifting components, they will fall and hurt people and objects to prevent brake failure.
(7) After the inverted chain is used, it should be disassembled and cleaned, re-applied with lubricating oil, installed and sent to the warehouse, covered with a plastic cover, and hung up for proper storage.
