C.SP Series Heavy Duty Roller Chain High Strength Short Pitch
Heavy Duty Roller Chains are manufactured to ANSI B29.1 Standards but feature thicker side plates. Having thicker side plates not only drastically increases the strength and fatigue resistance of a roller chain, but it also reduces stretching and wear that happens over time. Heavy-duty roller chains are optimal to use in agricultural applications, skid steers, heavy equipment, and any application that you are looking to increase the strength of the chain without having to go up a size. Power-trans has the widest selection of heavy chains, standardly we stock simplex, duplex, triplex, double pitch, and even cottered heavy roller chain. However, if you don’t see what you need custom heavy-duty roller chains can be manufactured upon request.

SP Series Heavy Duty Roller Chain Features
A. All heavy-duty roller chains incorporate solid rollers, enhancing rotation on the bushing while reducing impact loads on the sprocket tooth during operation.
B. All heavy-duty roller chain components are heat treated to achieve maximum strength and greater wear resistance.
C. All heavy-duty roller chain is pre-loaded during the manufacturing process to minimize initial elongation.
D. Hot dipped lubrication ensures 100% lubrication of all chain components to extend wear life and reduce maintenance costs.
E. Heavy-duty roller chain incorporates thicker plates for greater strength and durability.
Heavy Duty Roller Chain VS Standard Roller Chain
First off, both chains are recognized as ANSI B29.1 industry-size roller chains. The dimensions are very similar except heavy duty chains do have thicker plates, which makes the chain wider. With a heavy duty roller chain you gain both working load strength and greater fatigue resistance. Standard chains are better for smoother operations with lighter loads, whereas heavy duty can handle heavier loads and more repetitive shock loads.
Industry Applications of Heavy Duty Roller Chain
Heavy Duty Roller Chains are the last resort for moving parts and working conditions with recurrent and heavy shock loads and impact. Heavy roller chains are engineered to have thicker side plates and over ANSI B298.1 standard chains to withstand these environment types. Aside from the shock resistance, thick inner and outer link plates reduce wear and tear, and stretch and improves fatigue resistance.
Heavy Duty Roller Chains are the ideal choice for engineers in the market for drivers that can power large sprockets without compromising design or functionality. They are available in several configurations, depending on the strength of the generator. Heavy Duty Chains can be duplex or triplex depending on the number of additional plates added, one and two extra plates, respectively. Heavy Duty Roller Chain can be used in many ways and industries, considering their features and very niched attributes.
The chains'(Heavy Duty Roller Chains) application: activities with significant impact and shock, unparalleled fatigue resistance, and in mechanical power transmission from the drive to the driven shaft. For this reason, they are typically suitable and applicable in conveyor belt engines; examples are steel mills, agricultural machinery, earthmovers, logistics and transportation, the lumber Industry, construction and lumbar equipment, and giant moving structures like rigs.
Heavy Duty Roller Chain lubrication
Like bearings need grease, heavy duty roller chains need lubricant. At Power-trans we have the largest selection of heavy duty roller chain oil lubricants and lubrication systems. Ranging from food-grade, high-temp, low-temp, and even dry we’re sure to have the heavy duty roller chain lubricant for your application. Proper heavy duty roller chain lubricating not only improves the life of the chain, but it also improves sprocket life and reduces noise and shock loads. Lubrication can increase the life and performance of any heavy duty roller chain, regardless of chain grade/ quality level ann material. The lubricant types that we supply are specially formulated for industrial and manufacturing uses, and they are all proven performers in the industry.
Heavy Duty Roller Chain Lubrication Placement
Proper placement of lubricant is essential for obtaining the optimal life out of your heavy duty roller chain and lubricant.
- A – Apply heavy duty roller chain lubricant between the roller and inner side plate, this disperses the lube between the roller and bushing.
- B – Apply Apply heavy duty roller chain lubricant between the inner and outer side plates to lubricate the plates where they contact each other and the pin for an optimal pin-on-bushing contact.
Heavy-Duty Roller Chain Sprockets
Besides roller chain, we can also supply sprockets. When using a sprocket that has less than 30 teeth for a heavy roller chain. The sprocket has hardened teeth. All of the sprockets we supply with 30 teeth or less come with hardened teeth as a standard.
Single-strand heavy-duty roller chain is compatible with standard sprockets. We keep a full line of ANSI sprockets in stock in a wide range of variations, including taper bushed and QD style.
Multi-strand heavy-duty roller chain sprockets and standard multi-strand roller chain sprockets are not interchangeable. The reasoning is that the thicker side plates on the chain will not allow for the roller chain to seat and engage properly with a standard double sprocket. We can supply specially manufactured sprockets for this chain, but it will require a 1 – 3 week manufacturing lead time.

Heavy Duty Roller Chain Manufacturers
Heavy duty roller chain is a crucial component in many types of industrial equipment. We are proud to offer the best and strongest heavy duty roller chains in the business. Our lineup of standard roller chains include the most common chain sizes and types in the industry. These chains’ materials is conform to ANSI B29.1 Standards and use high-quality carbon steel to produce. For more information or pricing simply contact us or select the subcategories below. We typically supply #50, #60, #80 and #100 standard duty roller chains for agricultural applications.
We also supply #50H, #60H, #80H and #100H heavy duty roller chains for the toughest applications that need the longest life out of their chain. Due to the high speed nature of agriculture equipment chains, we recommend using our Heavy Duty, Solid Rollers, and Solid Bushing quality roller chains that is specifically made for high speed applications. The pins of this chain are case hardened and have the highest outside rockwell hardness across all three quality levels, along with heat-treated bushings, rollers, and side-plates. Having a harder pin will eliminate stretch for most pieces of equipment. Along with the heat treated pins, rollers, and side-plates, all heavy duty roller chains are pre-stretched at the factory. Without excessive chain stretch, you have substantially less wear on the components and the chain will last longer. We offer all our precision roller chain in 10’ coils, 50’ and 100’ reels. please contact us today.

FAQ
Q1: What is the strongest roller chain?
A: Roller chains are according to the impact force of the load. Going by the average tensile strength and weight-to-strength ratio. And the 200HR ANSI Standard Heavy Series roller chain is the strongest at 113,759 lbs and 12.835 lbs per ft.
Q2: What is a Heavy Series roller chain?
A: Heavy Series roller chains have thicker link plates, despite being ANSI B29.1 standard. The inner and outer link plates are thicken so that the chains can endure more demanding working conditions. They are less prone to wear and tears and have improved resistance to fatigue.
Q3: What is a heavy roller chain?
A: Heavy Duty Roller Chains are chains capable of pulling huge loads, working under impact-filled conditions, construction equipment, oil rigs and drills and amusement park structures.
Q4: How strong is the #40 Heavy Roller Chain?
A: We use The #40 to produce heavy roller chains under the most precise conditions and with specific materials. We use high-tensile steel alloys and ANSI standard dimensions to produce rollers. Putting the chain’s tensile strength at 3,700 lbs. These chains also have a pound-for-pound strength that is almost unrivaled, with a weight-to-strength ratio of 0.41 lbs/ft.
