The stainless steel leaf chain consists of staggering plates and is fixed together by rivet pins. Their manufacturing accuracy is as high as our roller chains. The first or more numbers in the leaf chain represent the chain pitch, and the last two numbers represent the tie of the chain.

Stainless Steel Leaf Chain Applications
Stainless steel leaf chains are constructed with stacked plates and pins to provide high strength for various high-load applications. Stainless steel leaf chains is ideal for heavy-duty hanging, balancing, or motion transmission applications like:

Why Does the Leaf Chain Have a Deviation Problem? 1. Too fast chain starting speed can also cause deviation. Start at a slow pace at this time. If the winding motor is used, it can be restarted after two jogs and can also get rid of the deviation condition reasonably.
2. The initial supporting force of the chain is minimal. The lack of support at the conveyor belt leaving the drum causes the conveyor belt to deviate. This type of situation usually occurs at startup, and the way to deal with it is to adjust the tensioning device to increase the initial support force.
3. The end transmission roller bearing is damaged and does not rotate, or the left and right roller bearings are damaged and do not rotate too much. The cause of the damage is that the tail sinks and floats too much. There is no immediate repair and replacement of the components that have been damaged or rotated inefficiently, which increases the frictional resistance and leads to deviation.
4. If the load of the stainless steel chain is too large, it will run off if it exceeds the electrical working capacity. The beneficial side of running deviation at this time is the maintenance effect on electricity. Otherwise, the electricity will be damaged after a long time. But for the operation, it is a deviation accident.
5. To eliminate the deviation of the stainless steel chain conveyor belt, first look for the reason for the departure and then take measures to deal with it. In that way, many conveniences have been produced for everyone’s work.
Inspection
It is important to inspect your stainless steel leaf chains regularly to prevent catastrophic failure that can result in equipment and person damage. The chart below indicates several common wear and protocols for your stainless steel leaf chain.

Replace the chain when its length becomes 1.03L.
Note: Wear elongation of a chain will lower its tensile strength (wear elongation of 3% lowers the tensile strength by 18%)
The wear life of the chain can be increased by using lubrication.Cracked Plate (1) where the crack from hole of a link plate in the direction perpendicular to tension direction. Load exceeding the allowable tension of chain Replace the chain with a chain of higher maximum allowable tension, or lower the load of dynamic shock load. Cracked Plate (2) where the crack takes place in an oblique direction against tension direction Heavy rust or corrosion to a corrosive material.
