The steel pintle chain gets its characteristic name from its design. A pintle is a pin or bolt, typically inserted into a socket-like cylindrical fitting known as a gudgeon. Applying this way of attachment to chain links allows pivoting or hinging connection to a second, similar component which builds up a solid yet flexible chain for conveying heavy material. Steel Pintle Chain consists of a barrel and link as a single casting. Each casting is then connected with a steel pin to the next forming a chain. The castings and linkage provide increased strength compared to other chains, allowing a wider range of applications.

400 Class Pintle Chain	700 Class Pintle Chain	400 Class Pintle Chain: The 400 class pintle chains can be used in the same ways as steel detachable chains, but the sprockets don’t need to be changed. They can also hold much more weight than steel detachable chains. This class is also made of cast steel alloys that can handle corrosive and abrasive environments. Our 400-class pintle chains come standard with stainless steel cotters. 600 Class Pintle Chain: Pinch chains in the 600 class are strong and come at an affordable price. They are also made with an open barrel that keeps materials from getting stuck in the chain. This series can also be used in abrasive environments. 700 Class Pintle Chain: The 700-class pintle chains offer a lot of support and capabilities when it comes to moving or driving over long distances. Carbon steel, cast steel, stainless steel, and non-metallic plastics can be used to make these chains. They are used in sugar, wastewater, mining, and other industries. 800 Class Pintle Chain: An 800 class pintle chain is a very strong pintle chain that is often used in mining and other harsh environments. The benefits of these chains come from their special design, which keeps them from breaking under high shock loads and lets them work in situations that aren’t ideal for chains. 900 Class Pintle Chain: This type of pintle chain only comes in one size. Because it can withstand rough environments for long periods of time, it is mostly used in palm oil and sugar mills.

	Mechanized Farming Practicing agriculture over large landscapes requires equipment for spreading, including fertilizers, seeds and manure. Steel pintle chains are used in such spreader applications mainly because they are less likely to have material buildup and do not need as much maintenance as other chains. Typically, the chains are used in conjunction with crossbars or slats for moving the material efficiently.
	Conveyor Systems: A conveyor system refers to a piece of mechanical handling equipment that transports raw goods, products and other materials from one spot to another. For conveyor systems that involve moving heavy bulk material such as sand, grains and salt, steel pintle chains have high durability to handle these heavy loads for an extended period.
	Wastewater Collection: Steel pintle chains are used in water treatment facilities on several conveying and drive applications that facilitate the process. These chains are used in wastewater facilities with their high resistance to corrosive environments.
