SWL Series Hand Wheel Worm Gear Screw Jack for Lifting Equipment
A hand crank screw jack(SWL Series Hand Wheel Worm Gear Screw Jack) is composed of a hand wheel or hand crank and a worm gear screw jack, which has intermittent precise positioning and a self-locking feature for no creeping down without a brake mechanism or other locking systems. When manual ball screw jack, no self-locking feature, avoid ball screw back drive with attached load, which needs additional brake mechanism or other locking system to prevent it creep. A manual screw jack is an ideal solution for applications where electricity or power generators are inconvenient or dangerous, lightweight, have low duty cycle, have low target cost, and have short travel lengths.

The worm gear screw jack housings are made of ductile iron and proportioned to support the rated capacity of the unit. models have aluminum housings. This worm gear screw jack incorporates an alloy steel worm which drives a high-strength bronze worm gear ( drive sleeve ). The worm shaft is supported on anti-friction tapered roller bearings with external seals provided to prevent loss of lubrication. The drive sleeve is supported on the anti-friction tapered roller or ball thrust bearings. rotation of the drive sleeve causes the lifting screw to translate or rotate, depending upon the jack configuration.
The working principle of the hand wheel worm gear screw jack is that the worm ( also called the input shaft ) is manually rotated by the hand wheel. the worm wheel (also called the worm gear ) is rotated by the worm, and the trapezoidal lifting screw is moved by the rotating worm wheel.
